Frequently Asked Questions

What are your hours?

The Hope Clinic is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Patients are seen by appointment only. We are closed on Fridays.

Who can become a patient?

The Hope Clinic provides FREE services to people ages 18 to 65 years of age who live in Delaware and have NO INSURANCE and have incomes at or below 300% of the federal poverty guideline.

What forms do I need to fill out? 

Contact information form, medical and/or dental history forms, 

Can I get a filling?

We only perform extractions and dental cleanings. 

Can I walk in and be seen by a doctor or dentist?

We are not a walk-in clinic. Our providers volunteer their time so patients are scheduled around their availability.

I have an emergency. Can I come to the clinic?

We do NOT provide emergency services. All medical and dental staff are volunteers who are at the clinic only at scheduled times. If you have an emergency, call 911 or go to the ER.

What services do you provide and how much will it cost me?

We provide non-emergent medical care and dental care. We can make referrals to specialists, can order lab work, diagnostic testing, and provide medications. All of these services are FREE to qualified patients. 

I cannot make my appointment, what should I do?

Please call us as soon as you know you cannot make your appointment and we will assist you in rescheduling. We would like to be respectful of our volunteer providers' time. 

I do not speak English. Do you provide services for non-English speaking patients?

We ask that patients bring someone who speaks English with them to help interpret. When making an appointment, please let us know if you need services in another language. We will do our best to accommodate your needs.

How often will I have to renew my application?

At least once a year or anytime the Clinic requests it. If your income, employment or insurance status changes, please let the Clinic know. It is your responsibility as a Hope Clinic patient to inform us of with updates of your contract information so that we can reach you if needed.
